The journal acknowledges the growing use of generative artificial intelligence programs in research and academic writing.
These tools can be employed by researchers in performing activities such as language revision, brainstorming, coding, translating, or organizing. However, it will be up to the authors to ensure the precision and ethics of their manuscripts.
Authors May Use AI Tools For
Subject to appropriate disclosure, AI tools may be used for limited supportive purposes such as:
Language Improvement
Support for improving language and expression.
Grammar Correction
Assistance with grammar and language corrections.
Translation Assistance
Support for translating academic content.
Formatting Assistance
Help with formatting and organizing manuscript content.
Brainstorming
Support for developing and organizing ideas.
Coding Support
Assistance with coding and related research activities.
Data-Analysis Assistance
Assistance with data analysis where the results are appropriately verified.
Authors Should Not
Generative AI should not replace the author's responsibility for scientific work or be used to misrepresent research.
Fabricate or manipulate research data
Generate false references
Create unsupported scientific claims
Misrepresent AI-generated content as independently verified research
Conceal substantive AI-generated contributions where disclosure is required
Replace the author's responsibility for scientific interpretation
Authors Remain Responsible
The use of AI tools does not transfer responsibility for the manuscript away from the authors.
Accuracy of the manuscript
Originality of the submitted work
Integrity of research data
Accuracy and reliability of references
Compliance with applicable ethical requirements
Appropriate acknowledgement and attribution
Responsibility for the final submitted manuscript
Disclosure
Authors are expected to make an adequate disclosure wherever there is use of AI to an extent that influences the preparation or content of the manuscript.
